How to Use

To define curves and curls: Apply the desired amount to clean damp hair from roots to ends.
For a separated or messy look: Apply a small amount to dry hair.

Pros and Cons

My stylist used this on my type 2B/2C hair and it really seemed to accentuate the curl pattern. Also, it was more "touchable" than some curl creams, so I ordered a sample to try myself. Unfortunately, with continued use, my hair became drier (and it's already on the dryer side), duller, and stringier. I believe that this is because it contains Polyquaterium 46, which I've learned is a strong cationic polymer that binds tightly to the hair shaft and has the potential to build-up. It is not easily removed without a specific clarifying ingredient that is very drying. David Hanen, as you know, there are hundreds of curly hair products out there. The trial and error involved in finding hair and person-healthy products that actually work is exhausting and expensive. Like some silicones, while polyquats are supposedly not toxic (there is a range of conflicting info available to the public), they are obviously not optimum to use as part of an ongoing routine. It's a different chemical with the same set of problems. Are there no other alternatives that work???

Great for curls

Conditioning and defining. You can run your fingers through your hair, let it air dry or diffuser dry, and you have healthy, long lasting curls for days.

Loma makes great hair and skin products. Very safe for sensitive skin. Salon quality that's natural, clean, and green. I love it. My stylist uses and sells it in her shop -- but it's less expensive to buy directly from them online. Gluten free too.
